First of all, this was the last exposure on a FujiFilm Superia 200, so it had a lot of scratches on the right side of the exposure. But hey, imperfections actually perfect the photos itself in my point of view. After all, reality is never a perfect thing and that reality is what we take images from.
Taken just before landing on a cloudy Jakarta morning, it shows a background of the mountains (probably Mount Pangrango on the background) popping over the clouds. It also shows rows of ships queuing at the port of Tanjung Priok. It should’ve showed high-rise buildings just appearing from the fog/smog but i guess 50mm isn’t enough.
Here are some other airplane shots I took, but preserved the colors and actually added more saturation and bloom.
A typical coastal landscape in the tropics where you get plots of land (or is it more appropriate to say it as ‘submerged land’) where it is usually used for fish farms or rice paddies.
When I was small I dreamed of becoming a pilot. It’s because at the time I really would have loved the sensation of flying and everytime I imagined I was flying in a fighter jet, the best manuver would be doing a tight turn with a combination of roll and yaw just like what the plane did in this photo. Okay, the plane wasn’t a fighter jet rather it was ‘only’ a Boeing 737-800NG but I guess it’s close enough.
Again, I see a lot of imperfections. The image is from from smooth, you get blotches in dark areas (even bright areas), and colors are way off (i did that on purpose in post processing) but this was how I felt (or rather how I wanted it to feel) and that’s the reason it deserves a showing in my blog.
